TRAILER SERIES
With this series of work, I wanted the shipping container form be made transparent to expose the volume of its activity.
Transparency would allow the form to be physically present and act as a placeholder for something intangible and not readily perceptible. It would allow the ability to touch the shape's surface while concurrently being able to visually examine the interior of its volume.
As a parcel to be delivered, the viewer would be able to see what was being delivered without ever opening the package. And although the clarity of the container could allow its contents to be visually accessible and obvious, the solidity of its form would metaphorically keep its full potential contained within its confines and its impact from yet unpacking into place.
However, with these transparent shipping container forms, I didn't want their aesthetic content to focus on what a container holds but rather how the transport and logistic systems move it and how this movement connects the developing timelines of the destinations and spaces inbetween.
